SUMMARY:Drawing 1: Visual Logic Through Structure and Value @ Waterfall Arts
DESCRIPTION:DRAWING 1: VISUAL LOGIC THROUGH STRUCTURE AND VALUE\n\n@ Waterfall Arts\n\nMarch 16 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm \n\n$135.00 $175.00 (8-week course)\n \n\nThe fundamentals of drawing are challenging\, but can be made clear with regular practice. During this eight week course\, we will divide our time equally between structure and value. We will discuss the use of perspective and various types of line to understand how to make your drawings more volumetric and convincing. We will then use this understanding of structural form to introduce the effects of light and shadow. This class is designed for beginner-level as well as more advanced artists that want to revisit and codify drawing fundamentals in their artwork. Class dates: March 16\, 23\, 30\, April 6\, 13\, 20\, 27\, May 11 (skips May 4) \n\nMaterials list:\n\n\n	\n	HB\, 2B\, 4B artist pencils\n	\n	\n	Kneaded eraser\n	\n	\n	18" x 24" Drawing quality paper (such as Strathmore 400)\n	\n	\n	Willow charcoal (medium width)\n	\n	\n	18" x 24" Charcoal Paper (such as Strathmore 500)\n	\n	\n	Retractable eraser (3.8mm General's Factis or Tombow Mono Knock)\n	\n	\n	Blending Stumps\n	\n	\n	Chamois Cloth\n	\n	\n	Spray Fixative\n	\n	\n	8"x10" photo mat for viewfinder\n	\n	\n	Masking Tape\n	\n	\n	Bulldog clips\n	\n\n\n \n\nAbout the instructor: Tim Conte is a recent addition to the faculty at the University of Maine\, though he has taught drawing and painting for over 16 years at universities in Philadelphia and Arizona. As an artist\, he aims to be an attentive eye. Watching the day's changing light\, and all the activity it reveals\, is how he spends most of the time in the studio. "I have come to believe that the most beautiful things in the world are the most atmospheric. Ultimately\, I find satisfaction in the pursuit and am pleased to be a part of it all."\n\nWaterfall Arts\n\n256 High Street\n\nBelfast\, ME 04915
