Wednesday Waldo Walk at The Stover Preserve
Belfast – Coastal Mountains Land Trust will host a Wednesday Waldo Walk at 10:00 a.m. on August 13. Join Coastal Mountains volunteer, Bindy Pendleton, as she guides you through this quiet, less traveled preserve. This walk includes a 1-mile loop without significant incline. The trail goes over bog bridges, through old pines and along a shallow part of the river, perfect for families (and everyone) to enjoy! Bindy’s walks are always so much fun, please plan to be there!
Bring: water, sunscreen, tick protection and binoculars, if you have them.
Meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Stover trail head, which has limited parking. The Head of Tide preserve is a brief walk away with more abundant parking (89 Doak Rd., Belfast). You will easily see the sign for the Stover preserve, just across the road!
Directions: From downtown Belfast, take Main Street west and immediately turn right onto Waldo Avenue. In 1.5 mi, turn right onto Doak Road. Parking area is on the left immediately after Doak’s Machine Shop (red building) or park at our Head of Tide Preserve (89 Doak Road, Belfast) just down the road.
