Fused Glass Workshop: Drawing With Glass

Fused Glass Workshop: Drawing With Glass

Try drawing in glass for the first time or expand your skill set if you already have experience with glass art! Create a monochromatic drawing using black glass powder on white sheet glass. Black glass powder can be applied, moved and even layered to create bold and graphic images, delicate landscapes, and intricate portraits. It can be pinched, drizzled, stamped, sifted and stenciled for different effects and distinct tonal variations. Bring your own sketch, or use the provided ones, to create a beautiful work of art to be fired in the kiln.

This class is for adults of all levels and will discuss the basics of working in glass powder. Each student will complete 1 piece to be fired in the kiln to a tack fuse, creating a permanent work of art. The unique glass drawing will be either 4x6 or 5x5 and available the following week for pick-up. An N95 mask is required during class and will be provided. This class is suitable for beginner to advanced glass artists, ages 16 & up.

Sharon Warren is a glass artist with an engineering background. She says, “Glass is a tool to bring my artistic visions, precious moments, and scientific experiments together in a way they can be shared with others. Everyone wants to find a way to leave their mark on the world, and for me, I find this through my glasswork.”
