Tired of drawing on paper? Want to try drawing on metal and plastic? This workshop will provide an introduction to intaglio print making techniques via the drypoint method*. Scribing your mark into a plate produces beautiful velvety lines when printed. Includes a printing demonstration and time for each person to print their work. All ages and experience levels welcome.

*Drypoint is an intaglio printmaking method that involves scratching an image into a plate with a pointed tool. These lines create a burr that holds ink, meaning that the print reveals the drawing. Drypoint is an easy technique and great for beginners.

About the instructor: Ross Dener is a subscriber in our printmaking studio at Waterfall Arts. He received his BFA in Printmaking from Purchase College, State University of New York in 2019. You can find Ross’s work online here and here.
