Taize Service at SFCC

Rev. Steve Alspach, pastor of Sandy Point Congregational Church will be leading this ecumenical meditative service, which combines prayer with silence, short Scripture readings, and simple, contemporary chants based on Scripture.

Taizé is evening prayer for all Christian faiths. It is a simple, meditative form of worship that includes Simple songs, prayerful silence, and short readings guide the focus of the prayer.

Incorporates periods of silence with meditative readings from Scripture, prayers of praise and intercession, and the frequent repetition of simple, contemporary chants based on the Psalms or other parts of Scripture. Short songs or chants, repeated over and over, create a meditative environment.
