ReStore Driver
Retail Operations
· Help volunteers and managers to merchandise and fill the store with products throughout the day when not driving for donation pickups.
· Help maintain organization and cleanliness of interior and exterior of the truck.
· The Driver is responsible for the pick up of donations from local donors in Waldo and Hancock Counties.
Inventory Management
· Must be able to drive a 25-foot box truck to facilitate picking up donated inventory.
· Empty the Truck(s) and donations area every day, possibly multiple times a day with the help of store staff and volunteers. All donations must be brought back to the store and unloaded for sale, put in scrap metal, or thrown away.
· Assist with screening donations and adhere to criteria for accepting only donated materials that will be re-salable in the store. Assist in the processing of donations as they are dropped off or unloaded from pick up.
o Must be able to pass a background check and have/maintain a clean driving record.
o Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Or more with a team, repeatedly with proper equipment. The job requires bending, kneeling, lifting, and standing for long periods of time. The workplace can be noisy, with concrete floors and varying temperatures and weather. This is a non-smoking facility.
o Must have reliable transportation, an excellent attendance record and strong work ethic.
o Must be able to work with a diverse range of humans, kindness matters.
o Must be able to use a cell phone and vehicle navigation features with proper training.
Donor Relations/Experience/Marketing
· Provide exceptional customer service to donors and shoppers in the field and at the ReStore.
· Interact with donors at pickups, provide donation receipts.
Management & Reporting
· Maintain and support the truck maintenance logs.
· Record and report all gas receipts to management.
· Reports to Store Manager or to the Executive Director in store managers absent.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
· Demonstrate initiative represented by a sense of urgency, energy, enthusiasm, attention to detail, and follow up.
· Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
· Experience in working with volunteers, training in a positive and safe manner.
· Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and tact.
· Current authorization to work permanently in the United States.
· Proficient in English, other languages welcome.
· Personal volunteer experience.
· Ability to thrive in an ever-changing environment.
Reports to: ReStore Manager
Hours: Flexible, 8-15 hours a week but must be during Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Salary: $20 an hour
